You are probably thinking about your life purpose in terms of specific careers: choosing between things like art, wellness, design, finances, or other careers. It’s logical to think like that. But this approach has two fundamental problems.
Two problems
First. All of these activities are limited in time. Your job will end at some point, right? While a life purpose is something that matters to you throughout your whole life, from birth to death. So ANY specific careers by their nature cannot be your life purpose on its own.
Second. These activities can mean different things to different people. Let’s take a career in finance. For one person, it’s about the power that wealth gives to people (astrologically, it’s the 8th House). So they will realise the archetype of Pluto. For another, it’s just about earning money to support a family. So they find their personal realisation in family, not at work. For someone else, it’s about using their mathematical talents or organisational skills. You see, the Same career, but completely different meanings and fulfilment.
And that’s why you can actually find something that matches your skills or even your interests — and still feel unsatisfied. Because it doesn’t touch something deeper. Something you might call your life purpose.
Solution
Before searching for the specific career, you should go one level up and find out what mission you want to fulfil with such a career.
- And this mission should be abstract enough to be valuable throughout your life.
- Trigger some feelings in you to be important enough
- Manifests in the specific life situations, so you know it’s not your fantasy but something real
In our school, we call such a mission a personal archetype or a sacral wound. It’s the abstract idea or a topic that lies in the deepest level of your subconscious. It’s the main source of our existential, vital energy that gives meaning to everything and makes us unique. When you are connected to your personal archetype, you feel that everything is in its right place.
Example
I will show you an example. Normally, it works like this: you have a Personal Archetype — for example, Justice (remember, it should be something abstract enough), and it manifests in the specific career. For example, you are a lawyer. So by working on your job, you feel a connection to something bigger. And it brings meaning and deep fulfilment to your work.
If you feel unfulfilled, it simply means two things: you’re not connected to your personal archetype strongly enough, or your current life programs don’t allow you to manifest it. For example, your personal archetype is Justice, but you work as a massage therapist or as a manager in a big corporation. Obviously, that’s not the best work for manifesting Justice. It will be better to work in a human rights organisation or become a lawyer.
And the opposite example. You work as a lawyer, but your personal archetype is Healing. You may manifest it through your job, but working as a massage therapist will make it way easier.
As a conclusion
Before searching for specific careers, reconnect with the Sacral level of yourself — formulate your personal archetype, remember what was always important for you, from your childhood, what always inspires you or triggers you. That will bring you a deep understanding of life’s purpose. And then you can think about what job will help you to manifest your life purpose. And here astrology might help you a lot. But that is the next step.
